A) NELTAS Exams are conducted Offline only for Schools which are ONBOARD or Schools which are participating in NELTAS Exams.

Q2) Is there a negative marking in M-CAT for all standards?

A) Yes, there are additional 0.5 negative marks for every wrong answer in the Grand Finale of the M-CAT Exam. However, there is no negative marking in the Assessment Round.

A) Hall ticket is not provided to the students for offline exams conducted in school. All the relevant information such as the student's name, seat number, exam, subject, etc., is mentioned on the answer sheet itself.

Q7) How many levels of exams are there in NELTAS?

A) There are two levels of examination for ECAT (English), M-CAT (Maths), and S-CAT (Science) for students in Grade 2 to Grade 8:

  • Level 1 - Assessment Round: This is the initial round where students are assessed based on their knowledge in the respective subjects.
  • Level 2 - Grand Finale Round: This is the final round of the exam, where top-performing students from Level 1 compete for the grand finale.

Q8) What is Level 1 exam in NELTAS?

A) Level 1-Assessment Round - If child scores above 50%, then child is eligible to appear for Level 2-Grand Finale Exam for all 3 subjects English, Maths and Science.

Q9) My school has already dispatched the registration form, child is left out and wants to register for NELTAS Exam, what should parent do?

A) We request parents to speak with the respective school teacher. If the teacher agrees to accept the form, the student will be allowed to appear for an offline exam in school.

Q10) What is the structure and pattern of the examination?

A) The exam consists of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).

  • For Std 2 & 3: 40 Questions | 80 Marks | 60 Minutes
  • For Std 4 to 8: 50 Questions | 100 Marks | 60 Minutes
  • Computerized result generation is used for all students.
  • For students registered through schools, the exam is conducted offline using paper and pencil.
  • Negative marking is applicable only in the Grand Finale round.
